SOTA Chapter 15: The Defeat of Asmos

Yue: As some of you know I was brought here by my husband. I was not truly insane but in those days it was easy for a man to get rid of his wife by sending her here and then divorcing her on a count of insanity.

Their reactions were of sadness.

Yue: I was of course frightened of coming here. From what we knew those who resided within these walls where dangerous. I was very fortunate to find a friend here.

She smiled.

Yue: We fell in love and you know most of the story after that. But after Saix vanished life here became worse.

She bent her head.

Yue: Because of my limbo like state my eyes where opened to the realm of spirits. I was also able to see peoples intentions. I discovered that not only did Asmos believe in eugenics but he was also dabbling in the occult

They gasped.

Yue: he saw us as no more than animals that he could offer to the dark spirits he sommoned. That was why he wanted to get rid of us because in his mind the insane should never have romantic relationships

She said sadly.

Yue: When I died I watched over this place and warned patients when an evil spirit came close.

She recalled.

Yue: Things got better here and new technology and medicine improved the lives of those who lived here. Eventually Lobotomies where stopped thanks to new medications. But a decade ago the Asylum doors where closed and my job as protector was finished.

Kairi: then why didn't you move on into the afterlife?

She asked.

Yue: Because my story had not been told nor had I seen the spirit of Saix. So I waited here dogging the evil spirits and Asmos.

She shuddered in remembrance of the past fears and horrors. Suddenly they heard a bloodcurdling scream of pain and froze in horror.

Yue: Electroshock therapy

She said in a horrified wispier. Saix screamed in agony as his body convulsed. They shut off the machine and removed the strap from his head. Asmos came over with a tool resembling an ice pick.

Yue: Who wishes to do the exorcism?

She asked hurriedly.

Nova: I'll do it.

She and Yue joined hands and Nova began to recite a Shinto prayer that she learned from studying the ways of a Shinto shrine maiden. Yue began to glow brighter with each word she spoke.

Nova: I ask that my humble plea be heard and peace be restored to this haunted place.

She prayed as the ice pick grew closer to Saix's eye.

Nova: Bring together the gods of the four corners, bring together the gods of the four corners.

He suddenly froze in horror as he heard one of the evil spirits scream as it died. The screams grew more numerous and he dropped the ice pick narrowly missing Saix's face. It fell to the ground.

Asmos: No, No this can't be happening!

He gasped.

Saix came back to his senses in a state of buserk rage. The electroshock therapy had awoken the moon crazed beast within. He ripped through the bonds that held him to the operating table and leapt up. At seeing a horrified Asmos he advanced slowly on him.

Saix: YOU.

Asmos backed away in horror.

Saix: YOU WILL PAY DEARLY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!

He roared.

Asmos was now backed into a corner with no way out.

Saix: Now you will know the meaning of pain.

He summoned his claymore, and with it, he saw to the slow and bloody death of Asmos's soul.

By the time the others found him Asmos was dead. But Saix was still in a rage. Yue approached
him and placed a hand on his shoulder. He tensed, then miraculously he went back to his calm normal self and saw her.

Saix: Yue......

Yue: Its over now Saix. We won.

She said happily and they embraced. At last they could find peace. The moment was interrupted by someones rumbling stomach. It was Namine.

Namine: What? being posessed makes you hungry

She protested.

Yue: come on then will go to the cafeteria and see what we can wip up
